The Best PS3 Games by Genre

With so many games on the market it can sometimes be hard knowing what to get and when you’re looking for a game that is in a different genre from what you are used to, whether it be a first-person shooter, an action-adventure or perhaps something else; well it just isn’t easy at all! Puzzle:

Echochrome

Released over three years ago this is a puzzle game that can be downloaded from the PlayStation Network, and even though it is older than some of the others games you have; it is well worth the time because you get to enjoy this wonderfully unique game that asks you to navigate through some optical illusions (Which is easier said than done!). There are a staggering 56 levels for you to attempt and even though the graphics may seem quite basic, they are not and you will be left slightly brain-fried but happy.

Action Adventure:

Batman: Arkham City.

This is a completely fascinating game that is the latest in the Batman series by Rocksteady studios; there are so many quests for you to complete and so many characters that even just watching someone else play it can feel like you’re at the movies rather than sat in front of a games console. The combat is second to none and you really get the chance to get rid of your frustrations in this game; although I wouldn’t get your hopes set too high when it comes to the bosses because they have proved to be very easy to beat and I was left somewhat disappointed.

You should not however be deterred from buying this game because it really is worth your and even if you do eliminate the bosses very easily you can still find great enjoyment elsewhere in a game that is otherwise quite simply too good to miss.

First-Person Shooters

Resistance 3

This is such an excellent game and the amount of arsenal you have and the way that is works is just superb and you can find a level of excitement that I don’t think you will be able to find in any other first-person shooter. Quite simply Resistance 3 is one of the best games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. You don’t have to play alone as you can log into the multiplayer option online and compete and work with others and although the game does not have the eight player cooperative mode that the last Resistance game had, it is still very much worth your while.

Racing

Dirt 3

Not every racing game needs to be the same and Dirt 3 certainly isn’t, this game offers you so much more variety than many of the others out there and goes even further to make sure you don’t get bored with similar circuits by throwing in some weather changes now and again that not only change your visibility but also challenge your driving skills.

You don’t just get to race some great looking cars in this game you also get to race some great looking buggies and trucks too. All the vehicles handle very well and to be honest the game in just fantastically presented and is a real credit to the producers.

Whether you are new to racing games or you have been playing them for years, Dirt 3 is the game that I recommend you try because you will not be disappointed.

Take Good Care of Your PS3

So you want your PS3 to last you a good few years and quite rightly so; we all invest a lot of money in one unless we are lucky enough to get it as a gift and even then we can fork out loads for the latest games that promise us hour upon hour of entertainment.

While we’re always being told that we shouldn’t sit at our PS3 for hours on end without having a decent break away from the screen so we don’t hurt our eyes and we can stretch our legs; we’re not always clearly told how to take care of the games console that helps provide us with all that entertainment and victory.

If your PS3 sounds like a hoover and is letting off a less-than-desirable stench then you need to clean it right away. You don’t need to panic; all you have to do is:

• Either use the brush attachment that comes with the vacuum that you use to clean the edges of walls on your PS3; just make sure it is turned off.

Or

• If you don’t want to use a vacuum then all you have to do is turn the console off and blow really hard from different directions into the fans. Depending on how much dust there is there, you might end up with a bit coming back into your face, but it shouldn’t be too much and the more frequently you do this, the less likely you are to have problems.

Hot Stuff

Imagine if you were playing sports for hours on end, how tired and hot you would get; now think about your PS3 and how hot it gets when it’s turned on for a long time and isn’t given a break. You need to keep your PS3 as cool as possible so even if it looks hot and is pretty hot when it comes to playing your favorite games; it’s also cool enough to keep going.
